Albert Manuel Kramer passed away in his home on September 12, 2022, at the age of 87, surrounded by wife Dora & daughter Vannessa.
Born in Esperanza, Sonora, Mexico in 1935 to parents John & Maria Jesus. Sibling to brothers Fred & John & half-sisters Caroline, Joanne & Yolanda. Albert grew up in Nogales, AZ.
While in high school, Albert played baseball & worked as an extra at Old Tucson Studios. After graduating in just three years, Albert briefly moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of an acting career.
Albert later joined the Army and was stationed in both Japan & Korea before being honorably discharged in 1957.
After his military service, Albert pivoted towards a career in business: for 23 years he owned Johnny’s Coffee Shop in Nogales, AZ, served as Vice President of M&M Drug Co. & managed properties through his real estate company.
Next, Albert pursued a career in politics. Was appointed to the Arizona/Mexico Commission & served for over 20 years in both county and city government, including as Mayor of Nogales, AZ.
Also, a devoted philanthropist, Albert founded Kiwanis International (Nogales Chapter) – an organization devoted to improving the lives of children. He also volunteered for Knights of Columbus, JTPA, Honor Guard & Chamber of Commerce.
Known by all for his charisma & kindness, Albert loved to laugh, sing, dance & travel.
He’s survived by his four children and four grandchildren, as well as a number of nephews and nieces.
