Professor Alberto Cabrera of Nogales Az., age 97, passed away on Wednesday August 24 of natural causes. He was born on August 1, 1925, Son of Professor Carlos Cabrera Morales and Dolores (Molina) Cabrera.
Professor Alberto is survived by his wife Norma Elena, his Sons Jorge of Chula Vista, Ca., Sergio (Marisela) of La Quinta, Ca., Omar (Gabriela) , Carlos (Haydee) and daughter Ana Haydee (Francisco) of Nogales, Az., grandchildren Daniela, Paolina, Marcia, Sergio Jr., Briana, Joshua, Gabrielita (Fernando), Omar Jr., Zuzeth (Willie), Carlos Jr., Nicole, Marielle, Margoth & Karime, great grandchildren Janisa, Aaron, Willie Jr., Camilito & Leah, several nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces. Alberto was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Carlos and Professor Raul; and in laws Rafael & Guadalupe, daughter in law Lizbeth.
Everyone who knew Profe Alberto felt his big heart, patience, kindness and giving nature; he was a Gentle Man!. He is remembered especially in his more than 50 years of teaching along with his Father Professor Carlos, and brother Raul, by countless students whom he taught & guided with immense passion and dedication, and most of all; he was very interested in seeing them succeed. He placed and found jobs to many students that ended their studies through their school, jobs that best fitted each and every one of them. He loved to teach and did it with such passion; that inspired people to learn his teachings. He taught all of his Sons and Daughter many useful subjects as well. He will be missed specially by his 14 grandchildren, with whom he spent countless hours teaching them Spanish and grammar, playing dominoes, etc. He was a huge fan of the Raiders and the U of A Wildcat football teams. He loved all kinds of music, Flamenco, Jazz, Classic, New Age, even Progressive Rock, and used to attend live concerts any time he had a chance; specially with his Sons and Daughter. Back in his younger years, Alberto was an avid Pistol shooter, and was a member of a local Gun Club in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, he was a good shooter; and placed on the top 5 on several Pistol Shooting local and State Tournaments. He loved to swim, either at a pool or in the Ocean.
But most of all, we will remember Professor Alberto, as a well centered, methodical, humble, honest and highly ethical individual, a family oriented Man, devoted to his wife and family he formed, loving them in many ways, and enjoying a simple and healthy life-style, we’ll never forget his eating habits, always very selective on what he ate and how much he did, never over drinking or over eating; a huge reason of his great health he enjoyed for so many years.
The family would like to thank the whole team @ Soulistic Hospice, specially Lorena, Griselda, Charlene, Beyana, Karene and many others, for their compassionate care during approximately 1.5 years; whom Alberto received invaluable care. We would like to thank all our family, caregivers Angelita, Amelia, Damaris & Panchita, and several friends for their great support and prayers, who spent time with Dad prior to his passing; and made him so very loved!.
RIP Papa!❤️
