Enrique Bejarano Naff, lovingly known as “Tata”, “Pop”, “Chief”, and “Henry”, to his family, and friends, passed away peacefully surrounded in prayer, music, and love by his children and grandchildren, on February 6, 2024.
Henry went to meet the lord and his beloved wife at the age of 86.
Born in Nogales, Sonora on April 1, 1937 to Clay and Maria Naff. Henry was the oldest of six children. Growing up in Nogales, Sonora with bilingual parents, Henry was educated on both sides of the border, attending primary school in Nogales, Arizona and middle/high school in Nogales, Sonora. Upon graduating from high school, Enrique enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on June 10, 1955. He served his term in Reykjavik, Iceland, achieved the rank of 2nd airman, and was a jet aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged on April 9, 1958.
Henry was married to Yolanda Larios “Yoli” on June 29, 1958. They were happily married for 58 years until Yoli’s passing in 2016. Family meant everything to Henry. He was a loyal husband and devoted father to his 5 children, Clay, Henry, Robert, Alma, and Joe. Henry was an incredible husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Those that knew and loved Henry were always glad to be in his company. His generosity, wit, kind nature, and contagious smile brightened the room everywhere he went. When not at home or on the job, Henry was very involved with the Nogales community serving as VFW Post Commander and Sacred Heart Church mass lector for several years. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandchildren/great grandchildren, and playing golf with his sons.
Henry was very intelligent, dedicated, hard working, and sincere. After his discharge from the Air Force and throughout his life, Henry worked in every job imaginable. He was a radio announcer in Phoenix, a Nogales policeman, and a U.S. Postal Worker. Later in life and due to his kind nature and personable wit, he found success working as sales manager and foreman in the freight industry, working with such companies as Citizen's Auto Stage, Burlington Northern, and others. He retired to devote the rest of his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren in 2002.
