Felipe G Fernandez

August 23, 1929 — April 7, 2026

Rio Rico, Arizona.

Felipe Fernández was a working man of integrity, faith and commitment. Born 1929 in Garden Grove, California, he was the son of a migrant farm worker Ramon (1892) from Michoacan and Ramona Gonzalez (1906) from Chihuahua. In Nogales he met and married Margarita Rosa Manzanedo (1931) from Tubutama, Sonora, who preceeded him in 2009. Most of his adult life Felipe worked in a factory assembling saxophone. "My house was built by saxophones," he would enjoy saying. He fathered four children Margo (sadly preceeding him in 2025) married to Randall Sanner, Alex married to Rosie Pujol, Cesar and David. He was forever proud of his beautiful grandchildren Robyn and David Sanner, Nicholas and Phillip Fernández, Cesar and Sedona Fernández. Felipe lived a magical 96 years working, making a family and teaching by example that truth, rectitude and striving lead to the greatness of spirit which he possessed. On the fourth he had his last beer comfortably sitting under his porch with his sons, on the fifth he pensively watched his last baseball game, and on April 7th, 2026 Felipe Fernández peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones.
