Guillermo “Memo” Diaz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle, passed away on August 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 15, 1947, in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, he lived a full and vibrant life marked by his love for family, dedication to his work, and passion for baseball. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, tending to his garden, and watching baseball games. He was also a mentor and friend to many, always ready with a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or a laugh to share.
Memo is survived by his devoted wife, Armida V. Diaz; his children, Guillermo Diaz Jr. (Carolina), Humberto Diaz, Laura Diaz, Ivan Bustamante (Vanessa), Luzmichelle Ibarra (Andres), and Ernesto Diaz (Danielle); and his cherished grandchildren, Daniel Rodriguez, Michelle Leal, Melissa Bustamante, Valerie Bustamante, Jasline Bustamante, Robert Anthony Diaz, Kassandra Perez, Adriana Perez, Alyssa Sanchez, Genesis Ibarra, Athena Ibarra, Nichole Diaz, Sylvana Diaz, Valentina Diaz, and Angel Diaz†. Great-grand daughter, Nicolette Serrano.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 12 PM at Adairs Carroon Mortuary - located at 1191 N Grand Ave, Nogales, AZ. A Rosary will follow at 12 PM, leading into a Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2:00 PM, situated at 272 N Rodriguez St, Nogales, AZ. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him
