Jose Francisco Preciado passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, in Nogales, Arizona surrounded by family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Mr. Preciado was born in Ures, Sonora in 1937. He lived in Hermosillo, Sonora during his younger years where he worked as an aircraft traffic controller, a radio announcer, owned a small business, and met and married Veva, the love of his life. He relocated his family to the United States in the 1960’s where he started his 30-year career in law enforcement working as a United States Customs Officer and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Mr. Preciado was a pillar to a strong and close-knit family, instilling in it the gifts of love, compassion, life lessons, discipline, a strong work ethic and respect for others. He exemplified excellence; offered wisdom, guidance, advice, praise, encouragement, life experience and lessons to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to pass on to their own legacies. He had many passions but his greatest passion of all was undoubtedly, his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren included. He loved spending time with them singing, dancing, hunting, fishing, debating points of law, discussing literary classics, and sipping a good tequila.
Mr. Preciado is survived by Veva, his beautiful lifetime wife and partner of 66 years; six children, Luis Preciado , Billy Preciado, Jenny Preciado Lee, Joe Preciado , Ceci Preciado, and Paty Vazquez; thirteen grandchildren, Christopher Ruby, Daniel Preciado, Andres Preciado, Alexandra Mercedes Ruby, Nicholas Preciado, Marina Preciado, Adam Joseph Lee, Sean Ruby, Katy Vazquez, Murphy Preciado, Samantha Lee Merdjanian, Danica Vazquez and Gaston Vazquez; six great-grandchildren, Nova Preciado, Jaxson Preciado, Weston Preciado, Dillon Ruby, Jameson Ruby and Scarlett Llufrio; his son-in-law Ruben Vazquez, and daughter-in-law Patricia Barraza Preciado; his brothers Jose Luis Preciado and George Preciado, and his sisters Olga Owsley and Ana Preciado Black.
His legacy will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
