Olga Irene Alvidrez, 84, of Nogales, Arizona passed away on Friday,September 20, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Magdalena, Sonora to Elvira and Guadalupe Alvidrez, Olga was raised in Nogales, Sonora and immigrated to the United States in 1964. She became a US citizen on 9/24/1996.Aside from supporting her family, as a single parent, by working retail for over 25 years, Olga was also an exceptional entrepreneur. Olga was able to take the most simple ingredients and turn them into the most appetizing home-made foods,which she packaged and sold as a side business. Olga also sold Avon, as well as many other products. Many years she was a “top seller” earning multiple awards. Her extroverted and vivacious personality made her an ideal and successful saleswoman. Olga had numerous hobbies such as gardening, Zumba, and even an occasional trip to the local casinos; however, not a well-known fact, one of her favorites was the family pets she had throughout her life, particularly, her Chihuahua, Ginger. Ginger was her steadfast companion and sadly passed in December 2020. Ginger’s loss was something that Olga carried with her for the rest of her years. Olga had a vitality that was infectious. She loved to dance, was always the life of any party she attended,and could bring a smile to all those around her. She leaves behind her children Dr. Irene Duarte, Lizbet Marquez, Rene Palafox and her grandchildren Samantha Estrada, Lionel Duarte, Michael Estrada, Sarah Duarte, Tessa Estrada, Alyssa Palafox, and Mateo Palafox. Olga is also survived by her brothers and sisters Jesus Alvidrez, Roberto Alvidrez, Manuel Alvidrez, Rosa Medina, Rodolfo Alvidrez, Georgina Alcantar, and Marisela Tovar, as well as all her extended family and friends she touched throughout her lifetime. She was an exceptional women who will be missed by allthat knew and loved her.
